Profile
Yakima Country Club: Over 100 Years of Premier Golf in Central Washington
Established in 1916 as the first country club in Central Washington, Yakima Country Club (YCC) has remained the region’s most enduring and prestigious golf destination. Just three miles east of downtown Yakima, the club is nestled across 117 acres of orchard-lined hills, offering sweeping views of Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier—and a level of play and hospitality that has only improved over time.
A Course with History—and Heart
Built during WWI by a small group of Yakima professionals with a passion for golf and community, Yakima Country Club began as a bold idea. Over a century later, it’s one of the most respected member-owned clubs in Washington State. Designed by A. Vernon Macan and expanded over time, the 18-hole, par-71 course measures 6,494 yards from the back tees and continues to host regional championships and high-profile events.
Yet YCC isn’t defined by length—it’s defined by experience. No tee times. No rushing. Just a relaxed, refined atmosphere where players of all skill levels are welcome.

A Club That’s Grown with Yakima
From its origin as a 9-hole course cleared from sagebrush to the full-service country club it is today, Yakima Country Club has grown alongside the city itself—adapting, expanding, and thriving while staying rooted in its core values: excellence, community, and the love of the game.
Whether you’re searching for Central Washington’s top private golf club, planning a tournament or wedding, or simply looking to connect with others who share your passion, YCC delivers an experience that’s classic in feel and modern in execution.
This course is part of the Washington Golf Directory’s collection of Washington State private golf courses and member-only clubs.
