Whispering Firs Golf Course Overview
Whispering Firs feels like a walk in a mature park. Tall trees edge most fairways. Tee shots that find the short grass set up the round. Misses bring rough and overhanging branches into play. Several ponds and creeks ask for aim, and the greens are on the small side, so center targets pay off.
From the tips the course plays 6,646 yards at par 72 with a 71.8 rating and 122 slope. That number fits the look. It is challenging but fair. The scorecard shows a balanced mix on each side. Two par fives and two par threes per nine keep the rhythm steady. If you like to shape shots and think through angles, this course suits you well.
Whispering Firs Golf Course Hole-by-Hole Highlights
The official scorecard confirms the par mix on each side. Distances by hole are posted on the card at the course.
-
Opening stretch – Par 4s frame the start and set the tone. Keep drives under the tree line to hold the fairway.
-
Front-nine par fives – Two chances to score if you place the layup. Water and rough protect the aggressive line.
-
Short irons – Each nine includes two par threes that call for precise wedges or short irons into small greens.
-
Back-nine run – A steady mix of par 4s with a reachable par five for the bold. Play to the fat side and take your two putts.
