Liberty Park Disc Golf Course: Urban Access Meets Community Fun in Spokane
Tucked inside Spokane’s Liberty Park—just minutes from downtown—you’ll find a disc golf course that balances accessibility with technical variety. Established in 2017 and designed by Jeff Crum, this 19-hole layout makes great use of a mid-sized urban park, offering a solid experience whether you’re new to disc golf or have a seasoned forehand.
This is a course that welcomes everyone. The fairways wind past community spaces like the city library, public pool, and a kids’ play area—especially on the east end—while the western half of the course is dedicated more fully to disc golf. The mix of open throws, smart mandos, and occasional elevation means beginners will feel included without boring experienced players.
A Course Designed for All
With concrete tee pads, DISCatcher Pro 28 baskets, and accessible design, Liberty Park is as accommodating as it is fun. The 19-hole layout clocks in at 4,420 feet with a par of 57. Most holes range from 178 to 306 feet, keeping the focus on finesse and accuracy rather than raw distance.
You’ll find plenty of technical elements woven in—mandos, OB rules, and island greens that encourage thoughtful shot selection. The signage and course flow are clear, although first-time players might want to use UDisc to navigate a couple trickier transitions.
Whether you’re pushing a stroller, using a wheelchair, or just heading out with your dog, the course is friendly and open to all—though a few slight grades may require a bit of assistance.
Liberty Park Disc Golf Course: A Few Standout Holes
• Hole 2 brings the challenge early with an island green and a mandatory drop zone for those who miss it off the tee.
• Hole 13 is the shortest on the course at just 89 feet—but don’t let the distance fool you. OB pavement keeps you honest.
• Hole 18 stretches to 344 feet and features a tricky mando that will test your precision and patience near the end of your round.
Know Before You Go
There’s no on-site drinking water, so bring your own. Restrooms are available inside the city library at the northeast corner of the park. The course is stroller-friendly, dog-friendly, and fairly cart-friendly as well.
If the park isn’t too busy, Liberty Park Disc Golf Course shines. But even on weekends, it offers a welcoming, relaxed environment for solo play, families, or group outings. Plus, its central location just off the interstate makes it a convenient stop whether you’re a local or visiting Spokane for the weekend.
