Profile
Abrams Park Disc Golf Course climbs through tight Ridgefield woods
Abrams Park sits on the west side of Ridgefield. The nine-hole course threads a steep, wooded hillside inside the 40-acre park. It feels quiet once you step under the trees. First-timers can warm up at a practice basket by the lot, then walk over the small rise to reach tee one near the north play structure. Play is free during regular park hours.

Course Overview
This is a true woods course. Fairways are narrow and lined by ferns with tall fir above. The hillside adds steady climbs and drops, so footing matters. The city notes paver pads and clear tee signs. Local updates call out thick rough in places which makes disc spotting important. Paths can be muddy in the rainy season, and carts are not a good fit for the slopes. Give way to walkers on nearby trails and use the paved paths between holes to protect habitat.
Abrams Park Disc Golf Course Hole-by-Hole Highlights
-
Tee one sits just uphill from the northern play structure. Follow blue and orange arrows for flow.Â
-
The course plays all par threes for a total of 27. Layout length is about 1,901 feet on the main card.Â
-
Hole six is a steep uphill throw listed at 270 feet with a tight window from the pad.Â
-
Most fairways are carved in dense woods. Misses can kick hard off trunks and into ferns. Local reports say it is easy to lose a disc when the rough is full.Â
-
Wayfinding is helped by new tee signs installed as an Eagle Scout project in 2022.Â
Amenities & Practice at Abrams Park Disc Golf CourseÂ
A practice and warm-up basket sits beside the main parking area. Tees use pavers and each hole has a sign. The park has restrooms, trails, open space, and play areas. The disc golf loop itself is not cart friendly due to pitch and terrain.Â
Food & Beverage
Plan to bring water. Use the park restrooms before you start.Â
Rates / Booking / Local Tips
There is no fee to play during park hours. No tee time is needed. Wear sturdy shoes and long pants to deal with brush. Stay on paved paths between tees and baskets. Wait for trails to clear before you throw. After wet weather, expect slick slopes and soft spots. If you play in leaf season, use a spotter on blind lines to keep discs in view.Â
