A Round with a View: Lake Limerick Country Club in Shelton, Washington
Tucked into the wooded outskirts of Shelton, Lake Limerick Country Club is the kind of place that feels familiar after just one round. It’s not flashy. It’s not trying to be something it’s not. But it is a well-loved, community-oriented course where the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty meets casual, come-as-you-are golf.
With nine well-routed holes—each played twice from different tees to complete 18—it’s an ideal spot for players looking for a relaxed round, a local league hangout, or just a quiet walk through the trees.

This isn’t a bomb-it-and-forget-it kind of course. It’s more of a thinker’s track—shorter holes where position off the tee matters, greens that hold well, and fairways that ask for a bit of creativity. In other words, it rewards shot-making and punishes overconfidence.
⛳ Hole-by-Hole Breakdown
Each of the 9 holes has its own character—and when played from different tees on your second loop, the layout offers just enough variation to keep things interesting.
Hole 1 – Par 4
A gentle opener with room to breathe. Big hitters may be tempted, but a smooth hybrid to the center sets up a clean approach.
Hole 2 – Par 4
Bends ever so slightly left. A tucked green challenges you to stay on the right side of the fairway.
Hole 3 – Par 5
One of two par fives. Play it smart and it’s gettable in regulation—go for glory and you might find the trees.
Hole 4 – Par 3
This is the first “deceptively easy” par 3. Don’t under-club—many shots come up short here.
Hole 5 – Par 4
Trees creep in along both sides. Keep your tee shot center-right to open up the green.
Hole 6 – Par 4
Wide off the tee but a narrow approach. The green runs a little quick on dry days.
Hole 7 – Par 3
A fun short hole that plays downhill. Watch the wind—what feels calm on the tee can swirl near the green.
Hole 8 – Par 5
A longer hole with a risk-reward second shot. Stay out of the left rough and you’ll have options.
Hole 9 – Par 4
A strong finishing hole with a sloping green. Par here feels like a win.
(Play holes 1–9 again from alternate tees for the full 18-hole experience.)
☕ The Café at Lake Limerick
Open Thursday through Sunday, the Pro Shop Café serves classic clubhouse staples like breakfast burritos, grilled sandwiches, and hot coffee that hits the spot before your early tee time. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows your name—or will by the time you finish your round.
Grab a stool, a BLT, and a few minutes of conversation with locals. You won’t regret it.
🏞 Why Play Lake Limerick?
This isn’t a destination resort. And that’s exactly why you’ll love it. You come here to slow down. To hit your 7-iron under the limbs of a cedar tree. To walk 18 with your kid and a pull cart. To chase par between the pines.
The fairways are forgiving, the greens are well-tended, and the community vibe is strong. Whether you’re a regular looking for your weekly game or a traveler passing through Shelton, Lake Limerick Golf Club is one of those places that reminds you why you fell in love with golf in the first place.
