Grays Harbor Country Club
Classic Golf, Local Soul
Just east of Aberdeen, tucked into the evergreen-lined hills of Central Park, Grays Harbor Country Club has been quietly shaping the golf community since 1912. This is one of those places that isn’t trying to impress you with flash—it earns your respect with time, tradition, and a tight-knit sense of place.
Originally laid out by John Ball and updated in 1922 by Walter Fovargue, the course is a nod to golf’s early roots in Washington. With nine holes, a par of 35, playing at 2915 yards from the White/Blue tees and 2763 yards from the Gold/Red tees, it’s compact, but never dull. The course rating of 33.8 and slope of 114 hint at its playability—welcoming to newer players, but still capable of testing your accuracy and short game.
The fairways are lined with tall fir and cedar, the greens are small and fast, and every shot counts. Whether you’re walking a quiet morning round or pairing up for a twilight 18, the rhythm here is steady, grounded, and refreshingly local.
But Grays Harbor isn’t just about the golf. It’s about the community it supports. There’s a practice range, a short-game area, and a seasonal heated pool that opens in June and becomes a summertime favorite. The clubhouse offers a pro shop and gathering space for events—like club championships, member scrambles, and holiday mixers.
Membership is approachable, with options for individuals, families, juniors, non-residents, and even pool-only plans. While it’s a private club, guests are welcome when accompanied by members—and it’s not uncommon to find folks here who’ve been playing the course for decades.
Grays Harbor Country Club doesn’t try to be something it’s not.
It’s a 100-year-old golf course rooted in local pride, where the same families return year after year, and where the greens have seen more than a few generations walk their lines.
It’s a course that reminds us why golf in Washington is something special. And why, sometimes, nine holes are all you really need.
This course is part of the Washington Golf Directory’s collection of Washington State private golf courses and member-only clubs. Alongside public courses, disc golf spots, and driving ranges, we’re highlighting the places where golfers across the state play, practice, and build community—all year long.
